Senaste veckorna har det spekulerats allt mer kring en sammanslagning av de båda populära serierna Ghost Whisperer och Medium. Ryktet drog igång när CBS vd Nina Tassler påpekade att det skulle kunna bli en intressant mix nu när de båda serierna ska sändas direkt efter varandra.
Their mythologies are different, and we haven’t talked about a crossover, but it’s possible. I think right now, the shows have a different language. They have a different skill set, different rules, etc., but once we get the show launched and comfortable in its time period, we could certainly talk about it.
Ghost Whisperers ledstjärna Jennifer Love Hewitt ställer sig positiv till det hela.
Everyone’s been speculating, and I’m up for it if it’s handled the right way. Melinda and Allison handle things very differently. Allison focuses on crime and Melinda deals with crimes of the heart, so maybe Allison could do a little detective work and then Melinda could sweep them into the light.
Däremot ställer sig Mediums producent, Glenn Gordon Caron, tveksam.
I’m a big Jennifer Love Hewitt fan, but our show is based on the life of a real woman. There really is this Allison Dubois who lives in Phoenix, Arizona. While Ghost Whisperer is inspired by the life of James Van Praagh, Jennifer doesn’t actually play him. I’m very uneasy with the idea of mixing and matching fiction with non-fiction, so I think it’s very unlikely.
Det skulle alltså handla om gästinhopp i varandras serier i stil med när Summer Glau hoppade in i Big Bang Theory eller när veteranderna i NCIS fick träffa på det nya gänget i NCIS: LA.
Personligen är jag inte alls förtjust i tanken då jag inte är något större fan av Medium. Däremot så är jag otroligt förtjust i Ghost Whisperer och relationen mellan Melinda och Jim (David Conrad).
Båda serierna har premiär den 25 september i USA.
